a kid goes up to an army recruiter and asks if he can go to the army. the recruiter asks if he's over 18, and the kid (lets say he's 11) says yes. the recruiter disagrees, but the kid shows something hes standing on thats in his shoes, proving he's "over 18". What's inside his shoe?

P.S. kids actually did this during the american civil war!

yeah. it didnt persuade the recruiters, but it made the kids feel less guilty. the recruiters, especially for the south just let them join cause they needed more soldiers.
